The Ministry of Intellectual Property (MOIP, formerly KIPO) examines applications in Korean. An applicant with no domicile or place of business in Korea, unless staying in Korea, must act through a patent administrator in Korea, usually a Korean patent attorney (Patent Act, Article 5).
